The
art has no boundary--el arte sin frontera. The deep and elegant art of Flamenco
has rooted again; and it is now in a far away land that we call Taiwan, where
the ancient culture of orient resides. After
the devotion to the art of Spanish dance for more than twenty years, bailaora
Chin Sien Nee Hsu, Flor de Loto, has come back to Taiwan from Spain, and founded
ASOCIACION DE DANZA ESPANOLA EN REPUBLIC OF CHINA--the official Spanish dance
organization in Taiwan. This association is formerly recognized by Taiwanese
government in April, 2002. The
founding of this association not only opens a new leaf in the art history of
Taiwan, but has also become the first official Spanish dance association in the
world of Chinese to promote and cultivate the art of Spanish dance, especially
Flamenco.
The
founder of this association, Madame Chin Sien Nee Hsu, Flor de Loto, is yet
another Taiwanese legend of its kind. Madame
Hsu is the only Chinese who earned her TITULACION from REAL ESCUELA SUPERIOR DE
ARTE DRAMATICO Y DANZA EN MADRID since the 18th century. Among lots of honors, Madame Hsu is appraised by Spanish King
Juan Carlos his highness himself [archive J. 1], and honored by the Culture
Department of Spain [archive 1869]. Although
adored and admired by many, Madame Hsu has never forgotten her root as a true
artist¡Xboth in life and in dance, which manifests Madame Hsu to be a real
Maestro of Flamenco.
To
follow the gracious guidance of Madame Hsu, the object of the newly founded
Spanish dance association will devote whole heartedly to promote and educate the
art of authentic Spanish dance. In
addition, there will be several directions for the association to set foot on.
First of all, introduce the art of Spanish dance through all kinds of art
education revenues in Taiwan; including: the professional education, the general
education, and the adult education systems.
Secondly, initiate and encourage all the Chinese around the world to
study the art of Spanish dance; and fund the related activities and abroad
studies. Last but not least, plan
and organize the related courses, certifying system, performance and
exhibitions, and culture exchange activities.
It
is the goal of this association to bring the most authentic and beautiful
Spanish dance culture to its own people, in the mean time, to enrich Taiwanese
culture with more diversity. Hopefully,
the art of Spanish dance will be able to absorb another broad and deep culture
of Chinese and blossom to something even more beautiful.
To
celebrate the inauguration of our association, a fiesta will be held in Hotel
Asia World, Taipei, Taiwan, in June 2, 2002.
There will be Flamenco performance as well as Spanish culture exhibition
in the fiesta. To share our joy and
to bring your attention to this new association of ours, it is, therefore, our
honor to present this invitation to the Spain¡¦s Royal family and Spanish
Department of Art and worldwide flamenco dance associations.
Please feel free to contact us!
Sincerely
yours,
